Frequently Asked Questions

1. What should we wear for portrait sessions?

  • Coordinate, but don’t match.
  • Wear solid colors that compliment each other.
  • Avoid logos, brands, and wording.
  • Keep prints and patterns to a minimum.
  • Accessories are great! Scarves, hats, and other pieces can be used to create a variety of different looks without having to change an entire outfit.
  • Dress for the weather. (This is especially important with children! Little girls wearing tights and dresses in the snow might sound cute, but they will probably not be very happy about it.  Cold unhappy kids = unhappy photos!)
  • Choose clothing you will be comfortable in.  If you like dressing up, dress up!  If not, go casual.  Your images should reflect you (and your significant other or family) and we want your personality to shine through!

2. Will we receive the large size digital files so we can make our own prints?

A copy of all your high resolution digital negatives is included with our wedding collection.  With a portrait session, you have the option to purchase the high resolution files for a separate fee.

3. Do you have a studio?

Yes!  Our studio is located in downtown Kent, Ohio.  You can choose to have your portraits done in our studio or on-location or both.  We shoot in rural areas, urban settings, aquariums, parks, homes, abandoned buildings (when we’re feeling adventurous), zoos, you name it!  We love scoping out new places for photos and we’re up for just about anything, so if you have an idea for your shoot, let us know!  Think about your hobbies and interests and try to come up with something outside the box.  We love being challenged.

4. Do you charge for travel time?

Unless we are traveling for more than 4 hours, we do not charge for travel time.

5. What kind of equipment do you use?

We use professional level Canon DSLR cameras and lenses.  We are always upgrading our equipment to maintain the highest level of quality available for your photos.

6. Do you bring backup equipment?

Yes, we always bring at least one backup DSLR camera and multiple lenses to every event or portrait session.
