Newborn Portraits: Grayton, 7 days old

Grayton had the honor of breaking in our new studio with his newborn portrait session at just 7 days old. He is absolutely perfection, isn’t he? He was the best sleeper we’ve had in a long time, and look at those smiles! Too sweet.

James and Heather’s Bertram Inn Wedding

James and Heather kicked off our 2012 wedding season with a small wedding and reception at The Bertram Inn in Aurora. Although the backlight was a little difficult, the floor to ceiling windows behind them as they were married in the atrium was just gorgeous.
How stinking adorable are these two? The hotel room where Heather was getting ready was filled with little ones. Yeah, a little noisy and chaotic at times, but their cuteness totally made up for it! I love this moment. The wide-eyed (or sometimes eyes-closed) deeeeeeep breath before walking down the aisle!

The blooming trees have been so confused with this strange spring weather we’ve been having in Northeast Ohio, but these two were still blossoming and very conveniently placed!The light was fading quickly after the evening ceremony. Isn’t it amazing what you can do with a simple wall? This was a tiny corner nook outside the hotel. Nothing fancy, but the framing and clean lines add visual interest. Such a sweet Grandma moment! Love!

Beautiful in-home maternity session ~ Akron Portrait Photographers

I visited Tiffany, Jeremy, and Cocoa in their home near Akron for this maternity portrait session. These two are going to make a seriously beautiful baby, and I can’t wait to photograph him, too! The weather was gorgeous and the light filtering in through the large windows in their home was absolutely perfect. Tiffany is on bed rest so I didn’t make her do too many acrobatics. I’m so lucky to have such awesome Baby Plan families!

Isla’s 7 month portraits – akron portrait photographer

I just adore my Baby Plan members! It’s so much fun to see them every few months and I’m always blown away by how quickly they grow! Isla is 7 months old now, and we had another portrait session in her home. Full of smiles and radiating joy, she was a dream to photograph. This little girl is SO loved by her parents. I can’t wait to see her again in a few months!

When I saw the reminder about the monthly photo challenge at I Heart Faces, I immediately thought of this black and white photo from Lauren and Jon’s wedding late last year. This moment between Lauren and her dad just before he walks her down the aisle tugs at my heartstrings! I love their expressions and the way the window light highlight’s Lauren’s face. So beautiful!

Carman and Pugh Photography is hosting a Cutest Kid Contest!

This post will fill you in on ALL the details you need to know about how to enter, how to vote, and what you can WIN!

Submit your photo to Carman and Pugh Photography via email. You have until Friday March 9th to submit your picture. Voting will close on March 17th @ 10pm EST, and the winner will be announced on March 18th. Submit your picture and tell all of your friends to vote for your child!

::HOW TO ENTER::

Email your photo to tkcarman@carmanandpugh.com with the subject line “Cutest Kid Contest”
Include your child’s name and age in the email (first name and age will be posted for contest), as well as your contact information
Photos will only be accepted until March 9th at 10pm
One entry per child
Child must be between the ages of 0 months to 12 years
NO professional photos, please.
It has to be your kid! Not your niece, nephew, cousin, or BFF’s kid. If you want the kid to win, get their parents to enter!
Contest is open to everyone, however if you live outside a 30 mile radius of Kent, Ohio, you must chose a location within 30 miles of Kent for your prize shoot

Melissa & Cody’s Cleveland Engagement Session

Cody proposed to Melissa during a sightseeing flight above Cleveland, so it was only logical that we would stop by Burke Lakefront Airport for their engagement session. In true Cleveland fashion it was frigid and windy, so we were only out by the planes for a few moments. After we warmed up inside we went over to the Cleveland Public Library to finish their portraits. Melissa and Cody are so awesome and fun-loving (they were recovering from a “practice St. Patrick’s Day party” the night before our shoot)! We absolutely can’t wait for their wedding later this year.

Jace’s Newborn Portraits

Sweet Jace came to have his newborn portraits done at 3 weeks old. He was a tiny little peanut born 5 weeks early! We love when our brides and grooms refer their families to us. Jace’s dad is the brother of one of our 2011 grooms. We adore this family, and can’t wait to see them again in a few months for Jace’s next baby plan session!

Stephen & Theresa’s Wedding and Reception at The Tangier

Theresa and Steve were married this summer in Akron at beautiful St. Vincent. We stopped by Lock 4 in downtown Akron for the bridal party photos, and then continued on to The Tangier for a beautiful reception!

Sarah and Joe were pretty much the only Carman & Pugh Photography couple who got rained on in 2011. And it didn’t just drizzle, oh no. It was a torrential downpour that started during their formal portrait shoot between the ceremony at Baldwin Wallace and reception at Springvale Ballroom. We made up for the lost opportunity with a post-wedding bride and groom session in downtown Kent, though, so it all turned out ok!

With groom and groomsmen portraits at Baldwin Wallace’s football stadium and an amazingly rockin’ party put on by Geoff from Hats Off Entertainment, a spontaneous mosh pit and a crowd-surfing groom, Sarah and Joe’s wedding was an unforgettable event!
